WHAT TO WEAR: SPRING BREAK

Spring’s a comin!

Dude. Finally. I’ve been freezing my a** off for wayyyy too long. It’s exhausting. This groundhog needs to hurry up and pop his little ugly head out before I lose it. Where’s everyone going this year? I heard Puerto Rico is gonna be a vibe. I wish. I try my best to think warm, Puerto Rican thoughts when I’m dusting, like, 10 lbs of snow off of my car. Here’s some sea-side vibes for ya: sparkles, sequins, and halter tops, oh my!

That’s right. We’re gonna take a memo from Britney and Paris this year.

**Before anyone yells at me, yes, I know the costs on these babies run high. I know it is not the typical college spring break budget. You all know the drill: unfortunately, sustainability and incredibly detailed, hand crafted items run pricey. I know, it sucks. But hey — it’s worth it. As someone that shops sustainably and has collected some expensive pieces over time, I swear. It really is worth it.

Toppy little tops

Ateleio - sharon top

If I had the money for this right now, it would be over. For those who knew me, and for my bank account. I am praying to god this top gets restocked in my size when I’ve got any money to my name. Can’t wait. A top like this is a literal work of art — look at the stitching and detail. Are you joking? It’s not a want, it’s a need.

IdÁH - Faerie Halter Top

Oh absolutely. I actually don’t love how this is styled, however. If it were me (and I really want it to be), I’d pair with some soft & semi-sheer linen white pants. Plus, a high volume pony. You’ll be the talk of the town. Or I guess, the talk of the beach.

rat & boa - bibi blouse

A dramatic top like this has sooo many functions, and I love that!! Wear as a cover up for that lil bikini, or as a top with a pretty, lacy bra or bralette under and add a flowy skirt for some drama. Layer with gold jewelry.

TANK AIR - Jellyfish Midi Skirt

Midi skirts are so in. They honestly really don’t get the praise they deserve. What I really love about them is that you don’t completely lose showing off your legs. Why not? We’re young. The frilly, lacy detail on this piece just really gives ocean-side for me. It should for you, too.

DANIELLE GUIZIO - KNIT SIDE TIE SHORT

Literally dial 911 because I am hyperventilating and foaming at the mouth for these adorable little booty shorts. Wear to beach clubs with platform flip flops and a pretty little tank.

DANIELLE GUIZIO - JEWELS SKIRT

Guizio can literally do no wrong. I love the gold and slightly sheer look, especially on the beach. I’m not a huge fan of this set together, but I absolutely adore the idea of this skirt with a white tank and a boat load of gold jewelry.

JEWELRY

Real tears are coming out of my eyes RN. Something about hand-made jewelry — especially when it isn’t plastic or cheap looking — really just makes me so happy inside. I lurvvv a good statement piece. Especially with a chic, simple outfit!

Joiana Jewelry

EEEEEK! Heart eyes AF. I love a lariat necklace! They’re so chic and dainty looking. I love how they give that subtly sexy vibe as if to say, “look over here.” Especially this one, except it’s the coastal version. I’d invest, if I were you.

Ok I’m sorry for this little disclaimer, but it’s the protective friend in me. As my parents always say, make good choices. But, in case you need a little reminder, here it is.

Spring Break Safety:

  • WEAR F*CKING SUNSCREEN. It does not prevent you from getting tan. It actually just protects you from looking like an old leather glove at 40.

  • Don’t get into a car with anyone you don’t know. I don’t care how cute they are.

  • Once you’re drunk, STOP DRINKING.

  • Watch your drink at all times.

  • When transporting your drink, hold it by carrying it on top, your hand covering the rim of the drink.

  • Do not take any substances from anyone, ever.

  • You’re better off paying for an Uber than getting snatched off the beach or street.

So please, for the love of god, make good choices.

XOXO,

-Emilyg
