ACCORDING TO EMILYG… WINTER ESSENTIALS: BOTTOMS, DUH!

AS I SAID BEFORE — IT’S F**KING COLD.

The hours in the day are getting shorter, and your grandma is relentlessly asking you if you’re wearing a coat and scarf when you’re out. Hot shorts and tights are cute, but the whole “pretty hurts” idea is starting to make you really, truly think about that phrase in terms of hypothermia. You look at what you’ve got. You dig through your drawers. You’re sweating, despite the fact that it’s like, minus a bajillion degrees. You think you’ve gone blind, because you’re not seeing a thing in your closet.

Unless, of course, you’ve read my blog, in which case, you’re ready and prepped for your royal freezingness’ weather. Because I care so much about you, I have compiled a list of must-haves (From quality brands, of course! You know how we do here.) for this Winter’s season to keep your bottom-half from freezing off.

Leather, baby.

Mother “dazzler skimp” - $228

An obvious flare these days is just that —too obvious. Opt for a straight or bootcut leg instead to illustrate just how chic you really are. And if you aren’t, fake it till you make it. And if you aren’t but want to be, for one, keep reading my blog, and two, chicness comes from knowing you look damn good. Anyway, the Dazzler Skimp pant is the perfect basic to have and to keep in your wardrobe for not just this winter, but for many winters to come. They’re a best seller for a reason.

L’AGENCE “Sneeki Low-Rise Coated Jean” - $295

For those who enjoy that sexy low-rise silhouette, this one’s for you. Though not technically leather or faux leather, they look like and will do the trick. I mean, come on. It’s not just the model, right? These are badass. Baggy pants had their moment in our teenage years, sure, but for those of us who want to make the most of (and by that I mean, feel the most confident and stylish of course) our post-college adolescence, I can say with complete confidence that form-fitting is the way to go. So go for it, and don’t forget to strut while you do.

Miaou “ELEMENT LACE UP PANT”& “Marco Faux-Leather Pant”

For the girlies who are interested in a more dramatic or unique vibe, Miaou is a great option to look at. Though on the pricey side, (unfortunately, as every sustainable option is) Miaou’s products are worth the dough. I own a pair myself that I found on sale and have had them for years. Having solely a basic can get boring, don’t forget to spice it up!

CLASSic & CLASsy

Aritzia “Forza skirt” - $128

This piece of faux leather fabulousness is a perfect staple to add to your winter wardrobe this year, and forever. Pair with a black turtleneck and over-the-shoulder blazer for work, or leave out the blazer and opt for a fitted sweater and boots for an expensive brunch with the ladies. The slit adds that sexy touch, and if work won’t permit it, add a pair of tights for some modesty.

RE/DONE “

High-rise Wide-leg Jeans In Blue” - $283

Contrary to popular belief, high-rise is still in, but only if done correctly. This piece is absolutely stunning and perfect for a casual dinner or for your everyday errands. Pair with a fitted sweater and thin belt to accentuate figure, or a chunky sweater that falls around your belly button for a cozier look (but be careful to not lose all your shape. I can’t have my readers walking around looking like paper bags.)

*You may have to dig a little online to find these in your size. I got lucky and found them on Ssense before they had disappeared into the empty shopping cart abyss.

We the free “Misha Faux Leather Pant” - $128

A little crop never hurt nobody! Well, um, it may hurt your ankles a bit when the ice queen from up there in the sky decides to nip at your ankles. BUT. This, my friend, is what the ankle-length tight was made for. Pair with a black chunky sweater, black belt with gold decal, and some fancy little flats (as pictured) or kitten slingbacks and you’re ready to conquer your trip to your favorite little cafe or dim-lit dinner.

ANYTHING, AS LONG AS IT’S with tights

For those of you who can withstand the freezing a** icicles falling from the sky — you’re so brave dude.

I promise guys, you can do it. You’ll only be in danger of hypothermia in the line to get into the club. After that, you’re home free.

REFOrmation “JUNE LOW RISE SHORT” $128

Hellooooo Blair Waldorf fans. Tights with a classic black (or dark grey wool) pair of shorts is a total staple for your holiday wardrobe. Perfect for going out with your gal pals with a pair of knee high boots or sling backs, or for those annoying ass holiday parties you’ve gotta go to out of familial or office obligation. At least now you’ll look cute in front of your irritating in-laws and boring coworkers.

SUPERDOWN “GIANNA FAUX LEATHER SHORTS” - $52

For a sexier, bolder look (especially for going out) I’d opt for Superdown’s Gianna short. Both affordable and super cute — a rarity these days. Also, totally gorgeous with tights and knee highs. These babies will have your booty looking fab and your legs looking long. What more could you ask for? Unfortunately, these are currently sold out, (At least on Revolve. Sorry guys, I’m only one woman.) but if you’re at all an online shopping connoisseur like me, they’re pretty easy to spot elsewhere.

TANK AIR “COLLECT $$ MINI SKIRT” - $175

Guys. When I tell you, this mini skirt is the HOLY GRAIL of all mini skirts. I have this skirt and I’m in lurvvvv. HUGE EmilyG stamp of approval. Or as our dumbass (somehow) president elect of 2025 would say. “Uge.” Just absolutely uge. Can you tell who I voted for? LOL. Anyway. Though costly, Tank Air is extremely sustainable and a great place to shop basics. Their sizes are actually accurate, fair, and widely ranged. If you try this option and it doesn’t end up being your cup of tea, the Danielle Guizio Micro Mini is also a viable choice. What I love about Tank Air’s mini though, is that though it’s modeled low rise, you can hike it up or down however much you like. If you want it shorter, it’s super easy and noticeable to roll, even. I’ll stop yapping now. Point being: it’s a good skirt.

Stay warm out there ladies. Hot, if you will. Sexy, if you must.

xoxo,

- Emilyg
